The first suggestion that this is not your average college apartment is the neighborhood: Tribeca, one of Manhattan’s priciest zip codes. Another clue follows in the entry: not a Breakfast at Tiffany’s poster but a dramatic floor-to-ceiling pink peony mural. In the living room, hanging acrylic chairs blush with Mongolian lamb pelts, and on the walls, the giveaway: portraits of the resident with Lisa Rinna and Harry Hamlin—her parents.

In January, when Delilah Belle Hamlin starts at New York University as a criminal psychology major, the aspiring model and Hollywood scion, who has more than 600,000 Instagram followers, will make this sunny loft her sanctuary.

“The light, the colors—I am ready to come home!” she says en route to a photo shoot in Australia with all the sincerity of a restless 20-year-old.

Most freshmen decorate with eclectic knickknacks; not so the 2017 T&C swan. Hamlin turned to RH TEEN, Restoration Hardware's teen brand, which worked with her to outfit her two-bedroom, two-bathroom pad in a playful style. “Initially I wanted black, white, and gray, but the design team suggested a pop of color,” she says. “We went with so pink, and I’m glad we did.” Layered textures are also in the mix, creating a halo of femininity without tipping into girlishness.

Throughout, Hamlin incorporated her own air, the worldly taste of someone who has appeared in advertising campaigns and walked the runways for Tommy Hilfiger and Dolce & Gabbana while still in her teens. Above her bed hang a woven metal chandelier and metallic foil X’s and O’s, and in the living room, snapshots mix with prints, including a quote that will surely ring true to all first-years: “I can’t fall asleep but I sure can dream.”

“It’s the first time I’ve designed my own space, so I thought a lot about what I’d love to live with every day,” she says. As she made her design choices, she reflected on her parents’ Beverly Hills home. “I wanted that level of comfort but have it be crisp and clean,” she says, sounding like a young woman ready to claim her independence.
