They've been dating for over a year but have gone to great lengths to avoid being photographed.

But on Monday, Naomie Harris was finally ready to go public with boyfriend Peter Legler, as the pair enjoyed a tender PDA during a romantic break in Italy.

The 37-year-old actress looked entirely smitten as she cuddled up to her beau during their day out on the Amalfi Coast.

Finally going public: Naomie Harris was seen with boyfriend Peter Legler during a break on the Amalfi Coast on Monday

Cuddling up: Naomie, who has always been fiercely private about her personal life, was more than happy to kiss and cuddle her man during their lunch

Wearing a black leather-sleeved coat over leggings teamed with black studded boots and a beanie hat, Naomie looked every inch the chic off-duty actress as she and her boyfriend snuggled up during their lunch together.

Little is known about Naomie's beau, with his surname only recently having been revealed.

The pair were first romantically linked back in November 2012, when they enjoyed a weekend at Champneys spa resort in Tring, Hertfordshire, where they had treatments including reflexology and shiatsu.

PDA: Peter appeared equally enamoured with his girlfriend as he lavished her with attention

Play fight: Naomie pretended to frown as Peter looked at her in adoration

Making up: Naomie was then seen enjoying an eskimo kiss with her beau as their meal continued

Naomie is famously fiercely private it when it comes to her personal life, so the photographs of her enjoying such a public embrace with her man are likely to come as a surprise to her fans.

But perhaps her relationship with Peter could be credited for what appears to have been a change in her outlook over the past year.

In an interview with the Evening Standard earlier this month, Naomie admitted that her stance on having children has changed - especially because she believes becoming a mother could also improve her acting ability.

She said: 'Babies suck energy and time, and you’ve got to be ready to give all of that up. I wasn’t back then. I definitely feel ready now.'

Keeping her close: Naomi is in Italy to attend the Capri-Hollywood Film Festival, where she was honoured for her role as Winnie Mandela in Mandela: A Long Walk To Freedom

New outlook: Naomie's relationship with Peter could be to credit for her new-found broodiness, which she revealed in an interview earlier this month

Referring to her friend Thandie Newton, Naomie added: 'She’s pregnant with her third child now and she’s really successful. From talking to people, having a baby actually makes you a better actor. Because it’s all about life experience.

'You can only bring what you’ve experienced on to the screen. And this other huge life-changing event, it just makes you more whole, and more able to emote and give more.'

Naomie is currently in Italy to attend the Capri-Hollywood Film Festival alongside her Mandela: A Long Walk To Freedom co-star Idris Elba.

The pair were honoured at the event, when they received the best actor and supporting actress awards for their parts as Nelson and Winnie Mandela respectively in the movie.

Best of friends: On Monday night, Naomie and her Mandela co-star Idris Elba were seen together at the Villa Verde restaurant in Capri

So good to see you: The pair greeted each other with a hug inside the eatery

Speaking recently about the part, however, Naomie admitted she had felt 'conflicted' portraying
the controversial former wife of the late Nelson Mandela - who was once accused of human rights violations and cheating on her husband.

She said: 'From reading about her, I was formulating an idea of who she was. From talking to people I was formulating another idea. My director had a strong idea about how he wanted her to be played ... I felt really torn, conflicted.

'I was scared and fascinated [meeting her]. I thought I would finally be able to put all these pieces together, but I didn't. You can't - especially with someone as complex as her. I asked how she wanted to be portrayed and she said, "You've done your research, you were chosen for this role, I trust you." It allowed me to own it.'

On-screen pairing: Naomie stars alongside Idris Elba as Nelson Mandela in the new movie
